Guilt free deep fried food!

I have always had passion for deep fried food, but since I started studying nutrition and started to learn how bad they are and how it can contribute for chronic diseases, I always felt bad when I eat them to be honest I stop eating them for a while and then when I see it in front of me I just can`t resist it!
Few months ago I started hearing about this machine that cooks in 1 spoon of oil, I did not care much because I thought it was one of the useless commercial stuff that they always sell in the name of healthy food.
Today my father came and woke me up and told me " yalla benro7 neshtre ele taqle el akel eb qafshat dehen" I was like hmmmmmmm okay.. We went to electrozan and we bought the ACTI-FRI, came back home and I thought of giving it a try!
With a 1/2 table spoon of oil ONLY.. Check the pictures for the results...

first i added the shirmps that has been prepared earlier..

then i added the 1/2 table spoon of oil

then i kept in thier for 12 min, the result was..
the taste was AMAZING, it tasted exaclty like if it was fried.

now i can eat with out feeling bad ;D

* portion size must be wateched, no oil dose not mean calorie free..
PS: if you dont have the ACTI-FRI, The oven would give u the same result by watch the amount of oil you adding

Pumpkin or potatoes!

A 245 gram serving of cooked pumpkin contains 49 calories ONLY!
While a 299 gram baked potato contains 278 calories: /
Both are low in fat and sodium.
The potato has more protein.
Both are good sources of vitamin C.
Potato offers more iron, while the pumpkin offers more vitamins A.
Both are good sources of potassium, manganese, and B6.
Pumpkin offers Vitamin E, Thiamin, Niacin, Folate, Magnesium, Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, and Riboflavin.
So calorie wise I would go with pumpkin! Bye bye my dear potatoes :D
A simple and quick recipe for an amazing healthy dish:
Fresh pumpkin, cut it into wedges, little bit of olive oil, salt and pepper! pop into the over for 25 min and you will get something like this the picture in the post:D

A drink for your Immune system!

strawberry and banana smoothie

2/3 cup thick apple juice

8 fresh strawberries

1 banana peeled

fresh mint leaves!

All in the blender! and YaaY you end up with an amazing drink full of vitamin C and it has an energy boost!

Raw energy, eating it like it is…

Eating raw veggies ?! yes ! why not!
Cooking veggies will result in the loss of most essential nutrients. Vitamins A,C and E, thiamin and folic acid are damaged or even destroyed by heat!!
Eating some raw foods everyday offers many health benefits:
-Maintain natural water balance
-Reduces our salt intake
-Raw food can improve our resistance to minor illnesses such as colds and flu and also help us deal more effectively with chronic conditions such as diabetes

Here are some tips to help minimize vitamin and mineral loss when cooking fresh, organic veggies:
-Do not pre-soak vegetables.
-Do not start cooking veggies in cold water, add them straight to boiling water or steam them
-Cook veggies as lightly as possible they should be firm and tender not soggy
-Make sauces and gravies with the veggie cooking water so that you can benefit from any vitamins or minerals lost in water.

Or just enjoy them raw without cooking! But make sure that they are cleaned very well.
