Pumpkin or potatoes!

A 245 gram serving of cooked pumpkin contains 49 calories ONLY!
While a 299 gram baked potato contains 278 calories: /
Both are low in fat and sodium.
The potato has more protein.
Both are good sources of vitamin C.
Potato offers more iron, while the pumpkin offers more vitamins A.
Both are good sources of potassium, manganese, and B6.
Pumpkin offers Vitamin E, Thiamin, Niacin, Folate, Magnesium, Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, and Riboflavin.
So calorie wise I would go with pumpkin! Bye bye my dear potatoes :D
A simple and quick recipe for an amazing healthy dish:
Fresh pumpkin, cut it into wedges, little bit of olive oil, salt and pepper! pop into the over for 25 min and you will get something like this the picture in the post:D

  1. I wouldn't say bye bye to potatoes, because you receive many nutrients for the amount of calories they have, making them a nutrient-dense food, and they also contain half-soluble and half insoluble fibers, perfect combination which helps lower cholesterol and at the same time keeps you full since it slows down digestion. Potatoes have phytochemicals and flavanoids and they also contain a chemical called kukoamine that helps lower blood pressure. Infact, potatoes contain just about every nutrient, except vitamin A.

So, we love potatoes :) The only thing we don't love is the way people cook them, they fry them with all that oil and add all that fatty sour cream and fatty cheese on top, which spoils its healthy reputation :)
